Please take some time to explore our website before answering the questions below. Familiarize yourself with our programs, especially our Students' Portal. Please address the essay questions below. Please limit your answer to three to five brief paragraphs (approx. 500 words). We suggest you write your responses offline in your word processor then return to this form and "cut-and-paste" you responses into the fields below.
Step 3 of 5
It is important to our mutual success that we find creative, innovative teachers and students who will actively and enthusiastically support the ongoing development of our Students' On-Line Discovery Community.
Please describe any activities you and your students might perform to generate information for our multidisciplinary Students' Portal. (Please note, we are not looking for computer wizards; we provide the necessary technical support needed to populate the site. The process is very intuitive and straightforward.)
If selected, your school will be added to our site with your own password to upload information.
Step 4 of 5
Please describe ways in which you currently use laptops. How comfortable are you with using the technology?
Step 5 of 5
Please discuss how you foresee creating a sustainable educational program within your community.
We want each applicant to give us names of contacts who might be interested in helping you sustain this educational program after MLCI has moved on to another community. We will help you by making initial contact with these people in order to facilitate the development of an ongoing relationship.
Suggestions include: active lake association members; key business people with a track record of contributing to community ventures; and/or retiree's who may have either been in education or have an interest in supporting education.
If you have any questions please review our FAQ, contact our Lake Science Educator, Rex Turner at rturner@mlci.org or call the office at 563-LAKE [5253]. Thank you!
